既可以是及物動詞，也可以是不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時，可接名詞、代詞或動詞不定式作賓語，也可接以動詞不定式充當補足語的復合賓語。接動詞不定式作賓語或賓語補足語時，to?？墒÷裕糜诒粍咏Y構時，to則不能省。help用作不及物動詞時常表示“實用”“有幫助”。

1、help sb. to do sth. 幫助某人做某事。

例句：Can you help me to learn English ?

你能幫助我學英語嗎？

2、 be of some/ no/ much help to sb. 對某人有些 / 沒有 / 很有幫助。

例句：This book is of great help to me.

這本書對我很有幫助。

3、 help oneself （ to ）自用（食物等）。

例句：Please help yourself to some pork. 請隨便吃點肉。

4、 help sb. into/ out of 攙扶某人進入 / 走出。

例句：He helped the patient out of the hospital.

他攙扶病人走出了醫(yī)院。

5、help sb. out 幫助某人克服困難，渡過難關、解決問題、完成工作。

例句：Please help me out with this problem.

請幫我解這道試題。

6、with the help of 在……幫助下。

例句：With the help of her, he found his lost child.

在她的幫助下，他找到了失蹤的小孩。

7、help sb. with sth. 幫助某人做某事。

例句：Can you help him with this work ?

你能幫助他完成這項工作嗎？

8、help to do sth. 有助于做某事。

例句：This program helps to improve our English.

這個計劃有助于我們提高英語成績。
